New JLR Engine Plant to be built in Wolverhampton
Update 19th September: Jaguar has now confirmed our story, although the cost is expected to be £335 million and the number of new jobs 750. We’d guess the 2,00 jobs we quoted in the original story includes jobs created in the supply chain. Work is expected to start on the new engine plant in early 2012.
Toyota has updated the Auris for 2010
Back in October we reported on the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) 2010 Toyota Auris which was a pretty good pointer to what the rest of the world would get in the way of updates to the 2010 Toyota Auris. And it was, with Toyota confirming the UK changes for the Auris and also confirming that the Auris Hybrid will go on sale in July, just as we reported back in June last year. Exterior changes to the Auris are not huge, but they are noticeable.
The new Renault Fluence is being built for the Turkish, Russian and Romanian markets
Renault are aiming to make the Fluence the most attractive car in its class (their words), and say that beneath its ‘Strong, sporty interior’ it features a ‘comfortable cabin with loads of technology’. So there. The Fluence comes in at the top of the C segment in terms of size – it’s just over 15′ long – and comes pretty well equipped.
